Musicopoly Prize Program

Eclectic Etude Logo_Large_Transparent_ed

A highly motivating program packed full of all the things necessary to educate, inspire, and encourage the at-home "no-nonsense" practice.

The research shows exactly why at-home practice is vital in not only the ability to showcase your skill/talent, but also in the student's overall mental, emotional, and physical health: now and in the future.

When Practice Feels Like a Battle

If you’ve ever felt the daily tug‑of‑war of getting your child to practice their instrument, you’re not alone. Many parents share that same exhaustion — the reminders, the resistance, the worry that their child’s musical spark might fade despite everyone’s best efforts.

Please know this: your struggle is valid, and your dedication matters. I understand how discouraging it can feel when progress seems slow or motivation disappears. I’ve been there myself — trying to balance work, family, and the hope that music will stay a joyful part of my child’s life.

This article was written for you — the parent who refuses to give up. Together, we can find the rhythm that works for your family. Every child is unique, and sometimes it’s simply about discovering the right approach, the right timing, or the right encouragement that unlocks their motivation.

You are not alone in this journey. We are a team — teacher, parent, and student — working side by side to nurture confidence, creativity, and perseverance. It may take patience and experimentation, but the reward is worth every effort: watching your child grow into a musician who plays not because they have to, but because they love to.

Resources & Articles

  • With the Musicopoly prize program, students can earn points from practicing at home, coming on time to lessons, completing assignments properly and on time, performing at events and recitals, and so much more.

  • With those points they will buy composer property stickers and add those stickers to a poster board next to their name, among all the other student’s names in the studio.

  • The goal is to earn 10 composer stickers (all a variety of points) in order to win a customized prize basket full of the student’s favorite things, such as:

    • Sweet treat

    • Salty snack

    • Beverage

    • 3 prizes of choice

    • A bunch of other random customized surprises based on an online form they will fill out online

  • Each student will receive 2 Get Out of Jail Free Cards each semester  in case they are sick, on vacation, can’t practice for personal reasons, or just simply need a week off.

  • The student will receive the same amount of points as if they had a perfect week if they cash in that card.

  • They will also receive a Free Parking card so that if they don’t like the song they are learning, they can cash in that card and permanently “park” the piece forever, no questions asked.
